Alien: Blackout diễn ra ngay sau sự kiện của Alien:Isolation, nơi chúng ta thấy Amanda Ripley còn sống nhưng chật vật bên trong ống dẫn khí của trạm vũ trụ Mendel, game bai doi thuong .Không biết làm thế nào Amanda sống sót sau cái kết của Alien: Isolation với vết thương trên mình.

Alien: Blackout mang đến những khoảnh khắc kinh hoàng – ngay cả trên màn hình nhỏ của điện thoại di động và tất cả chúng đều xuất phát từ miệng và móng vuốt của Xenomor – một sinh vật mà tất cả chúng ta đều đã biết. Hầu hết trò chơi diễn ra trên một màn hình với bản đồ 2D theo dõi chuyển động của thành viên phi hành đoàn, cho phép truy cập vào nguồn cấp dữ liệu camera, điều khiển cửa và kích hoạt cảm biến chuyển động. Phần khác của Alien: Blackout diễn ra tại nơi ẩn náu của Amanda. Nếu Amanda để lộ quá nhiều với những thành viên phi hành đoàn, xenomor sẽ theo dõi cô ta trong ống dẫn khí. Amanda có thể nghe thấy con quái vật đến gần vị trí của mình, nhanh chóng rời khỏi màn hình và đá cánh cửa đóng lại trước khi nhân vật của người chơi biến thành một… màu đỏ.

Alien: Blackout nắm bắt được tính thẩm mỹ của các bộ phim, giống như Isolation trước đó. Mỗi nhiệm vụ trong bảy nhiệm vụ của Blackout đều hoạt động trong giới hạn tám phút khiến nhịp độ của mỗi màn chơi trở nên gay cấn.
