Bút stylus của Nintendo Switch trước đây không thực sự là một phụ kiện phổ biến dành cho hệ thống hybrid gaming cho dù hãng đã hết sự nỗ lực trong việc cải tiến và quảng bá bút stylus như một phụ kiện cần thiết cho ai sở hữu máy Switch. Mới đây Colors Live - một startup ra mắt bút stylus Colors SonarPen, dành riêng cho Nintendo Switch hứa hẹn sẽ giúp thiết bị không chỉ để chơi game mà còn phục vụ cho người dùng thích sáng tạo.

Bút stylus là một phần đi kèm của Colors Live, sử dụng với một ứng dụng vẽ kỹ thuật số cho máy Nintendo Switch và là phiên bản kế nhiệm cho phiên bản trước là "Nintendo 3DS stylus art game Colors! 3D". Rất tiếc, SonarPen là cây bút có kết nối dây với jack âm thanh 3.5 mm của Switch chứ không có Bluetooth tích hợp. Và điều này có thể gây phiền toái cho người dùng.

Nhưng theo nhà thiết kế của Colors Live - Jens Andersson cho rằng Switch không tích hợp Bluetooth vào máy là có lý do, game đổi thưởng uy tín ,có lẽ vì họ không muốn người dùng sử dụng bất kỳ loại bút stylus từ một hãng nào khác bên thứ ba.

Bút stylus này có hỗ trợ nhiều lực nhấn và phù hợp với màn hình LCD của Switch. Bên cạnh đó, tuỳ theo lực mạnh hay nhẹ mà người dùng tương tác với màn hình trong lúc sử dụng bút, mà nó sẽ tạo ra nét đậm nét nhạt khác nhau trên màn hình dựa trên lực tác động của người dùng. Hơn nữa, người dùng có thể lựa màu dây cáp theo ý muốn và màu bút có nét mặc định là màu đen.

Colors SonarPen đang trong dự án Kickstarter đã được giới thiệu vào ngày 13 tháng 5 vừa qua với mức tài trợ là 16.337 đô la và đạt được mục tiêu thành công trong cùng một ngày - hiện tại nó đã huy động được hơn 130.000 đô la. Hiện dự án vẫn còn đang chạy trong vài ngày tới.
